“It’s my job to listen to and validate your experiences so that you can move forward.”

Hi! I’m Mechelle Marchant and I’m a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m passionate about helping people get unstuck when traumatic experiences have held them back.

I believe that my clients are the experts on their own lives and I’m just here to help them untangle the pieces and make insightful connections so that they can live more fully and freely as their authentic selves.

My passion for helping others began in high school when I became the go-to person for friends when they needed to talk something out and discovered I had a knack for being a good listener. A line from my 10th grade journal reads, “Maybe I’ll become a therapist. Most times people don’t need advice; they just need someone to listen.” I still believe that’s true. I think that resilience means that we already have the ability to heal ourselves if we can only learn how to access it. I can help you tap into the healing parts of yourself.

Working in the mental health field is a second career for me after first teaching English classes at a Title I high school in my native Tampa, Florida. While teaching, I realized I was able to connect with youth and it was this love of working with young people that propelled me into the mental health field. I earned an M.A. in Counseling – Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I help emerging adults and adults across the lifespan process their trauma.
